We’re the small shop with the big welcome in the heart of the English countryside.

It’s the home of the award-winning The Pickled Village chutneys, jams and marmalades. Come and sample them all at our tasting table!

It’s more than just a village shop! It’s where you go to grab essentials like milk, eggs, bread, Marmite. loo rolls etc. Or to have a good natter. We also stock all sorts of delish local & British speciality foods for last-minute treats as gifts. (Or for you!)

Pop in and pick up a coffee and a local magazine. Nothing in the house? Why not try our freshly baked pizzas, homemade sausage rolls, yummy cakes, filled rolls and paninis, wraps, baked potatoes, soups and homemade ready meals…? And then there’s our sweetie corner…a favourite with the wee ones and the not so wee ones. Oh and also… we’re now taking bookings for our cookery workshops.

We are thrilled to announce that our wee shop and tea terrace are now licensed for on and off-premise sales of champagnes, prosecco, wines, beers and gins.

Weather permitting, our covered terrace will soon be open each day for tapas, the perfect ploughman’s lunch, empanadas and many other delicious bites, including a proper full English breakfast.  Generous filled rolls, sandwiches and soups prepared daily.

A warm welcome awaits…

We're open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea on our covered outdoor tea terrace. Being 'The Pickled Shop' we also offer a selection of wines, beers ciders and English fizz.

Camille McLean

When Camille took on the village post office in Bulwick, she knew she would need to do something special to keep it going. She set about creating a range of preserves made on the Aga in her kitchen and, with the support of the village, Camille has turned the shop and tea terrace into a hub for the village as well as a destination for visitors from all over. With the launch of The Pickled Shop, she can now spread the love even further.
